Engineered and factory produced, the Finnforest I beam engineered wood that we use in our floors out-performs traditional solid wood construction in all aspects. This engineered wood is produced at a reduced moisture content and is therefore dimensionally stable and highly accurate. As the engineered timber is produced with the highest quality materials, it means there are fewer dimensional changes over time, virtually eradicating floor movement and its associated problems – resulting in great floor performance!

 

In addition to the Finnforest engineered floor system OFP Timber Framed Homes uses the Ultrajoist structure. This engineered timber system utilised the Ultrajoist super dry solid timber. It is ideal for use in flats as it is dimensionally stable. It features market leading acoustics and is pre-treated to prevent against insect attack, wood decay and water ingress. This allows it to retain its strength and straightness both during and after the build process.

 

All of the OFP Timber Framed Homes engineered timber solutions are sustainable and have PEFC certification. In order to minimise waste all the timber used is finger jointed or alternatively optimised to be reused in other suitable projects. The Finnforest engineered timber is sourced from 130,000 private Finnish forest owners and controlled at every stage from cutting to delivery.
